Background

Rogel Abais finished his undergraduate degree in Computer Science in 1989. Specializing in IBM proprietary language and midrange systems engineering, he worked as systems analyst and programmer before entering the Society of Jesus in 1994. He earned his Bachelor in Sacred Theology (STB) degree at the Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained in 2005 and was Director of Loyola College of Culion for three years. He returned to Rome where he finished his licentiate in Biblical Theology in 2011. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation under the direction of Fr. Jean-Pierre Sonnet, S.J., also at the Gregorian University.
